Today we'll learn about transfiguration. Please take lots of notes.
Crinus Muto is a spell to change the color of your hair. Say Crinus Muto while while tapping yourself on the head with your wand. Keep on trying until you get it right.
Now, please do not try any other transfiguration that has not been taught. If you do the spell incorrectly, sometimes you will not ever be able to turn the thing you are transfiguring back. That may not sound like a big deal, but with advanced transfiguration it is. Can you imagine having a shark tail for the rest of your life? Review all of this before continuing.

Hello! I'm Professor S. and I'm excited to work at Hogwarts. Today we will start Defense Against the Dark Arts.
Our first lesson will be about boggarts. They turn into a person's greatest fear. No one truly knows the form a boggart takes when there are no people around. Boggarts can be harmful, but only if the person's fear is harmful. For example, Harry Potter's greatest fear is a dementor. If the boggart in the form of a dementor kisses a person, it will have an effect. However, because it is not really a dementor, it will not work fully.
There is a way to destroy a boggart, however. The spell Riddikulus works. Think of your fear. Now, think of something that would make the fear seem funny.
For example, if your worst fear is spiders, think of a spider with no legs. Do whatever makes it seem funny. Now, keep that in your mind and say Riddikulus.
